Scope and Contents Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. Pendleton acknowledges receipt of Tilson’s last two letters. He approves of Tilson’s answer to Mrs. White and hopes that it will put an end to her “troubling.” Bishop DeCharms has been assisting Pendleton in organizing the upcoming General Assembly in London; Pendleton passed Tilson’s requests regarding music along to DeCharms as he is arranging the services. The material in this sub-series contains records, correspondence, ephemera and other materials from several iterations of New Jerusalem church organizations in New York, including the Convention church (now Swedenborgian Church of North America), the New York Society of the General Church of the New Jerusalem, the Brooklyn Society and others. Folder titles are all "New York Society" although the church may have existed at times as a "circle" or "group" instead of a full society.
